Forza Horizon 6 Fast Leveling: XP & Influence Farming

Level up fast in Forza Horizon 6 — how XP and Influence work, what each level rewards, and the fastest ways to farm wheelspins through skill chains, events and boards.

Fast leveling in FH6 comes from doing several XP things at once. Race events, bank skill chains on the way, detour through XP boards, and convoy when you can. Every level gives a wheelspin, so XP is really another way to feed your garage.

How XP, Influence and levels work

Almost everything you do in Horizon generates XP / Influence: racing, drifting, exploring, smashing boards, completing challenges and accolades. It all funnels into one progression score, and crossing each threshold bumps your level. There’s no level cap that stops the rewards — you keep earning as you play.

XP stacks across systems. A skill chain gives skill score and XP. An event pays XP and credits. The best route is not one perfect grind; it is doing activities that pay two or three ways at once.

What levels reward

Every level-up grants a wheelspin, and milestone levels grant Super Wheelspins. Those spins are a core source of:

  • Free cars (including rare ones)
  • Credit payouts, sometimes large
  • Cosmetics — clothing, horns, emotes

Because spins are random, volume matters: more level-ups means more pulls at the table. See the wheelspins guide for what’s in the pool and how to make the most of each spin.

Fastest XP methods

Skill chains

Banking skill chains pays XP on top of skill points, so it’s double-dipping. Keep a Skill Song on the radio to multiply the score, chain stunts, and bank before you crash. If you’re also chasing perks, this feeds directly into the skill points farming guide.

Playlist and seasonal events

The seasonal Playlist is the single most efficient XP-per-minute activity for most players. Each entry pays well, refreshes regularly, and often bundles bonus rewards (wheelspins, cars, cosmetics) for hitting completion percentages. Knock out the cheap, fast Playlist entries first.

XP boards

Scattered around the map, XP boards give an instant XP lump when smashed and never deplete. Plan routes that pass through clusters of them so you collect boards while driving to your next event rather than making dedicated trips.

Convoy bonuses

Driving in a convoy with other players grants shared bonuses, so grouping up for events and free-roam can meaningfully boost XP gain over solo play. It also makes board-hunting and Playlist grinding more fun, and lets you split up to cover more boards in a region before regrouping for the next event.

Bonus boards and danger/drift zones

Repeatable Danger Signs, Speed Traps, Drift Zones and Speed Zones all pay XP, and beating your own score pays again. They double as skill-chain fuel, so a single fast run through a zone can feed two reward streams at once.

Accolades along the way

Many Accolades pay XP lump sums for milestones you’ll cross naturally — boards smashed, races won, cars collected. You don’t grind them directly, but knowing which tiers are close lets you steer an hour of play toward an extra payout.

MethodWhy it’s fast
Skill chainsXP + skill points together; multiplied by Skill Songs
Playlist / seasonalBest XP-per-minute, plus milestone reward bundles
XP boardsInstant, repeatable, collectible en route
ConvoyShared bonus stacks on everything you do
Danger/Drift zonesRepeatable, and feed your skill chains

Efficient early-game leveling routine

In your first hours, the goal is to snowball wheelspins quickly:

  1. Clear the intro events to open the map and unlock fast travel where possible.
  2. Start the seasonal Playlist and cherry-pick the quickest entries for fast completion percentages.
  3. Route through XP boards between every event so you’re never driving “empty.”
  4. Bank skill chains during free-roam transits — drift the dirt, near-miss traffic, smash boards.
  5. Join a convoy with friends to stack convoy bonuses on all of the above.
  6. Spend wheelspins as you earn them; early cars and credits accelerate everything else.

Don’t tunnel on a single race for XP. The same minutes spent doing varied Playlist entries, boards and skills will out-level a repeated grind almost every time.

Turning levels into a snowball

Leveling, credits and skill points all reinforce each other. Levels give wheelspins → wheelspins give cars and credits → better cars finish events faster → faster events give more XP. To complete the loop, pair this with the credit farming guide for funding your garage and the skill points farming guide for unlocking Super Wheelspin perks. Brand new? The beginner guide covers the basics first.

Frequently asked questions

How do you level up fast in Forza Horizon 6?

Stack XP sources: bank skill chains, complete Playlist and seasonal events, hit XP boards, and roll in a convoy for shared bonuses. Doing varied activities keeps XP flowing far faster than grinding a single race over and over.

What do you get for leveling up in FH6?

Each level grants a wheelspin — and at milestone levels, Super Wheelspins — which drop cars, credits, clothing and horns. Leveling is one of the main ongoing sources of free wheelspins in the game.

What is the difference between XP and Influence?

They're effectively your progression score from almost everything you do — racing, exploring, skills and challenges all feed it. Accumulating enough pushes you to the next level, which triggers a wheelspin reward.

Are XP boards worth collecting?

Yes. XP boards give an instant lump of XP, never run out, and many can be smashed on routes you're already driving. Mopping up boards in an area is a reliable, repeatable leveling boost.
